Xijiang Miao Village The world’s largest Miao settlement — tiered wooden stilt houses from valley to hilltop. When thousands of lights turn on at night, it looks like stars on a hillside. Tickets ¥100; staying inside the village is better (¥150-200/night).

Libo Small Seven Arch Bridge Emerald water, waterfall clusters, virgin forest. June has peak water flow and the most spectacular falls. Tickets ¥130.

Eating in Guiyang: Huaxi beef noodles (¥10), Siwawa spring rolls (¥20), grilled tofu (¥5) — Guiyang street food is cheap and delicious, perfect for graduates on a budget.
