How to Buy Tickets

QR code: Alipay/WeChat have built-in metro ride codes — scan to enter and exit, auto-billed, most convenient. Transit card: City-issued physical cards, top up and tap; some cities offer 10% discount. Single-journey ticket: Buy at vending machines, touch-screen select destination, accepts cash and QR payment.

Transfer Tips

Follow color-coded signs at transfer stations (e.g. Beijing Line 1 is blue, Line 2 is red). No need to re-purchase tickets for transfers — complete all transfers before exiting. Avoid major transfer stations during peak hours (7:30–9:00am, 5:30–7:30pm), or travel slightly earlier/later.
